We would like to remind you about the Northern Star Interschool Chess Tournament that we will be held in the Andrianakos centre on Tuesday 30 July. All AGS students from Year 4 to Year 12 are welcome to sign up and participate! Further details of the tournament, including registration and payment of a $25 entry fee & booking fee can be found via this link:

After students are dismissed from their school day, I suggest they should have a snack, get some fresh air and visit the bathroom and wash their hands, before the Chess Club commences. There will be a teacher supervising them in the playground, they will then be collected for Chess Club by the supervising teacher. When Chess Club has finished, Primary school students need to be collected by a parent or carer at the front gate or be enrolled in After School Care. Students attending After School Care will be supervised when crossing the road.

Yours Sincerely,
Janet Stewart and Max White
Chess Club Coordinators.

Secondary Visual Arts House Cup - Open theme Competition

For the third competition of the Visual Arts House Cup, students have the chance to create a piece without the constraints of a specific theme! The open theme competition puts student’s artistic expression and creative skills to the test and will allow them to create that piece, which has been sitting at the back of their minds waiting to manifest.
The only constraints are that student pieces needs to be made outside of art class and be created this term.
The competition will be running throughout the term, so students will have access to school supplies to complete their pieces. Entries may be a drawing, painting, digital art, a print, a photography collection or sculpture.
The deadline for the competition is Friday September 13th, which is the last day of term.
Please see poster below for some ideas and inspiration.
