If you would like to bring your phone with you on your Gateways trip, you will need to acknowledge and agree to the following rules. Please note, without written agreement you do not have permission to take your phone with you and it will be confiscated for the duration of the trip. Teachers are not responsible for any loss or damage that may occur to your device.
Rules:
– Phones will be distributed after breakfast each day by a staff member, at a convenient time.
– Phones will be handed in to your group teacher at curfew time.
– You will need to bring your own portable charger (and follow airline packing rules). You will not be able to charge your phone overnight.
– Students must sign their phones in and out when handing them in and collecting them.
– Students must make sure phones are put away when teachers, staff, tour guides etc. are talking to them or have otherwise requested them to do so.
– There are to be no phones in bathrooms at any time.
– Students must have the consent of their peers before taking photos or videos of them.
– All phone use is subject to the rules and requirements of the venue / location we are visiting.
– This agreement is used in conjunction with the ‘Global Gateways’ Code of Conduct.
Consequences:
– Should any of the above rules be broken, staff will confiscate the device for whatever period they deem suitable.
– More serious offences will be dealt with upon your return to school.
