Over the weekend, Alphington Grammar School students and staff proudly represented our school at the Antipodes Festival, a vibrant celebration of Greek language, culture, food, music, and the arts.
Our students took to the main stage in front of a crowd of thousands, to perform the Australian and Greek national anthems. On Sunday, our Greek Band, with the support of their teachers, performed a selection of Greek songs. Their confidence, musicality, and teamwork shone through, creating a performance that was both polished and deeply memorable.
The event was a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage with the wider community, celebrate cultural heritage, and showcase the strength of our school’s multicultural identity and Hellenic roots.
A sincere thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive families, and the festival organisers for making this experience possible. Moments like these highlight the pride we take in our students and the Hellenic connections we continue to honour.

Secondary House Night
Last week, our students and their families came together to celebrate the spirit that makes our House community so special. The school was alive with colour, conversation, and connection as everyone enjoyed great food, live music, and a wide range of activities.
We were especially delighted to welcome our Year 7 families for pre‑dinner refreshments—a wonderful opportunity for our newest members to build fresh connections or reconnect with familiar faces.
Events like this remind us that House spirit is about far more than friendly competition. It’s about belonging, shared experiences, and strengthening the relationships that support our students every day.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped create such a vibrant, memorable atmosphere. Your energy and enthusiasm continue to shape the heart of our community.

Last week our Primary School students celebrated Chinese New Year, and the assembly was nothing short of spectacular. Our students shone with confidence, pride, and joy as they shared songs, and traditions that honour one of the world’s oldest cultural celebrations.
A special highlight was the breathtaking performance by our face‑changing (变脸) artist, who captivated everyone with lightning‑fast transformations and vibrant theatrical expression. This ancient Sichuan art form has been passed down for generations, and seeing it live was an unforgettable experience for our students.
What makes days like this truly meaningful is the way our community embraces and celebrates the rich cultural heritage of its diverse communities. By bringing ancient Chinese traditions into our school, we help our students appreciate the beauty of cultures beyond their own.
Wishing all who celebrate a joyful and prosperous Lunar New Year. May the year ahead be filled with learning, connection, and good fortune

What an incredible day at the Secondary School Swimming Carnival at Alphington Grammar School!
Our students demonstrated outstanding achievement, determination and true sporting passion in every event. From standout performances to personal bests, the pool was filled with effort, resilience and House pride.
The energy throughout the day was electric thanks to our amazing cheer squads, whose colour, creativity and non-stop support lifted every competitor and made the Swimming Carnival unforgettable.
Congratulations to all swimmers and supporters, and a special well done to our overall House winner: Pericles!
